We have broken up this guide into store-bought snacks and homemade snack recipes. You’ll find some great options whether you’re looking to grab something at the store or have a little more time to prep your snacks at home.

Our favorite healthy snacks for boating are anything but boring, so let’s get into it!

Pre-packaged Healthy Snacks for Boating

1. LesserEvil Snacks

There isn’t a LesserEvil snack that I don’t like! Popcorn is their main product and with over eight flavors, there is something for everyone to enjoy on a boat day. Butter and Fiery Hot are my favorite flavors.

I appreciate that the ingredients are organic and use coconut oil instead of seed oils.

Their other snacks include Spaceballs, Power Curls, and Paleo Puffs.

Find LesserEvil near you.

2. Simple Mills

Simple Mills has been a staple in my pantry for years. They have so many great grain-free and refined sugar-free snack options.

Their cookies, bars, and sweet thins are great on their own; whereas the crackers perfectly pair with meat and cheese or hummus.

Find Simple Mills in a store near you.

3. ALOHA Protein Bars

Protein bars are one of the best snacks for boating because they will keep you full without having to eat a large quantity of food.

I am not vegan but ALOHA’s plant-based bars are delicious and made with clean ingredients. They are chewy, perfectly sweetened with monk fruit, and aren’t dry. ALOHA bars come in several different flavors. I enjoy Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough, Coconut Chocolate Almond, and Chocolate Mint the most.

Find ALOHA near you.

4. That’s It Fruit Bars

If you want to bring fruit on the boat without cutting it or bringing a cooler you should check out the brand That’s It.

Their fruit bars are 100% fruit – that’s it (pun intended).

Pick up this easy boat snack at Costco or check their store locator here.

5. Chomp’s Beef Sticks No Sugar Added

So many brands sell meat sticks and jerky but if you haven’t noticed, most have many unnecessary ingredients.

I have been a fan of Chomp’s for years because they are grass-fed, gluten-free, have no sugar added, taste great, and come in many flavors.

Chomp’s Beef Sticks can be found pretty much everywhere making this one of the most convenient snacks for boating.

6. Siete Grain Free Cookies

Just because you’re looking for healthy boat snacks doesn’t mean you have to leave the sweet treats at home!

Most of Siete’s cookies have a reasonable amount of carbs per serving so you can enjoy them without guilt!

My favorite flavors are Mexican Wedding and Mexican Shortbread.

Find Siete in a store near you.

7. Gimme Roasted Seaweed Snack Pack

I do not enjoy seaweed but I have a lot of friends who do so I wanted to include Gimme’s Roasted Seaweed on this list!

The title of the snack is exactly what it sounds like… roasted seaweed. Seaweed is a superfood loaded with Vitamin C, Iron, Calcium, and Vitamin A. Gimme offers 8 different flavors – Chili Lime and Teriyaki are top sellers.

Eat this healthy snack on your next boat day by finding Gimmee in a store near you.

8. Primal Kitchen Ranch Dip

Primal Kitchen doesn’t sell snacks but they do have a small line of dips that you could pair with chips from other brands. Their Ranch and Buffalo Ranch are still thick and creamy but much healthier than regular ranch dips without sacrificing the taste.

Find out where to purchase Primal Kitchen here.

9. EPIC Pork Rinds

Another one of the best healthy boat snacks is pork rinds! They are very high in protein and low in carbs and the crunch you get from them is so satisfying.

I prefer the EPIC brand because their pork is raised without antibiotics and most flavors have 0 grams of sugar. Flavors include Salt & Vinegar, BBQ, Hot & Spicy, Salt & Pepper, Sea Salt, and Maple Bacon.

Find EPIC in a store near you.

10. Mamma Chia Probiotic Chia Sqeeze

Applesauce pouches are delicious but Mamma Chia’s squeezes are great another idea with a lot more nutrients per serving. The individually packaged pouches make them one of the most convenient snacks to take on the boat.

Mamma Chia can be found in most stores including Walmart, Target, and Amazon. Locate a store here.

11. CAVA Hummus

I am picky when it comes to store-bought hummus. It never seems to taste as authentic as Mediterranean restaurants. CAVA Hummus is what changed the game for me! With only a handful of fresh ingredients (and no seed oils!), it makes sense why it’s so good.

Currently, they have two flavors; traditional and spicy.

See where CAVA Hummus is sold near you.

12. Goodpop Organic Freezer Pops

Popsicles are a classic summer treat but unfortunately, they are often filled with dyes and sugars. With 100% organic fruit juice and natural colors, Goodpop is a brand you can feel good bringing with you on your next boat day. Plus, kids love them too!

Find Goodpop’s in a store near you.

13. Tropical Fields Crispy Coconut Rolls

Forewarning, these Crispy Coconut Rolls by Tropical Fields are very addicting so you might want to bring more than one bag with you on the boat. The crispy yet slightly chewy texture of the rolls is unlike anything I’ve had before. They have no gluten and are made with organic coconut milk so it’s a great snack choice for those with food sensitivities.

You can find Tropical Fields at Amazon, Costco, and Walmart.

14. Barnana Plantain Chips

If you have yet to try plantain chips this is your sign to do so! I have only tried the Barnana brand so I don’t have much to compare to but what I love is how crispy they are without being hard. I appreciate that they use organic coconut oil and have only two other ingredients – salt and plantains!

Note: they are on the saltier side (which I prefer).

Find Barnana in a retailer near you.

15. Joolies Organic Medjool Dates

Dates are a quick and easy snack for boating that will curb your sweet tooth. They are a superfruit with high fiber and antioxidants that support brain function and digestion.

The Joolies brand sells plain organic Medjool dates but also has chocolate-covered dates and date bars.

Snack Recipes to Make For the Boat

many different types of food on a table

1. Guacamole

Of course, you could buy pre-made guacamole from the store but let’s be honest, it can’t beat the fresh stuff! With just a handful of ingredients, you can whip this up in just a few minutes.

2. Pasta Salad

Pasta salad is a fresh, savory, and filling option that can be made with many common pantry items.

3. Trail Mix

Trail mix is a perfect healthy boating snack because it can be customized with your favorite granola, dried fruit, nuts, and chocolate. Just don’t leave it to melt in the sun!

4. Hard Boiled Eggs

An easy item to prep the day before your boat day. You can buy a hard-boiled egg cooker from Amazon to make the process more convenient.

5. Roasted Airfryer Chickpeas

Chickpeas are a food rich in protein and healthy fats. They are low in carbs so you can eat a lot at a time without worrying. Elevate their taste by roasting them in the air fryer and coating them in herbs and seasonings. I personally love making Greek or Chili Lime flavored chickpeas.

6. Deli Wraps

To me, nothing quite hits like a sandwich on a boat day! Unfortunately, subs and sandwiches from restaurants tend to be very high in calories so creating your own version at home will allow you to control the ingredients.

Tip: The easiest areas to make healthy swaps are the type of bread or wrap and the amount/type of condiments used.

7. Watermelon Salad with Mint and Feta

Want to bring a healthy boat snack that is a bit more creative yet still very simple? This Mint and Feta Watermelon Salad recipe is the perfect combo for sweet and salty lovers.

8. Cowboy Caviar

What was all the rage on social media a couple of years ago is still a recipe that we love for boat days. Cowboy Caviar is super nutrient-dense without feeling like you’re eating a salad.

9. Pico de Gallo

Pico de Gallo is a crowd-favorite healthy boating snack! Because the main ingredient is Roma tomatoes, it’s also affordable to make in large quantities.

10. Cranberry Orange Almond Energy Balls

Energy Balls are a great idea to keep you going all day long. Although chocolate is usually a welcome addition, you don’t have to worry about it melting in this Cranberry Orange Almond recipe!

Anchors aweigh!

I hope this list provides you with plenty of healthy snack ideas for boating that still taste delicious!
